Jeanne Julie Sensoli Churchill

August 21, 1940 - August 28, 2023

Obituary

“Jeanne Julie Sensoli was born in Dearborn, Michigan on August 21, 1940 to Egidio & Maria. She grew up among a large Italian family who cherished their faith, family and good home-cooked food. After moving to Redford and graduating from Thurston High School, Jeanne attended Henry Ford Community College where she met and fell in love with Stuart Churchill. They married on October 15, 1960 at Garden City Presbyterian Church. Soon they began their own family - Joel was born in 1962 and Carrie in 1963. The family lived in Redford where Jeanne & Stu were very involved in raising their kids. They retired to Oscoda, Michigan and enjoyed many years of living on a golf course, making lots of friends and worshipping & serving at Trinity Lutheran Church. They were delighted when both their children found & fell in love (Carrie married David & Joe, Olga) and started families of their own. Jeanne & Stu loved being grandparents-they were called Nani & Papa Stu by Ann Marie Bulbuk & Jessica Churchill. Jeanne loved sewing clothes for the girls, playing with them, & taking them to the beach. When the cold winters got to be too much for Jeanne & Stu, they headed out west and settled in Nevada. They found a new community in a large church there and were very involved in many church ministries. A year after Stu passed in December of 2018, Jeanne’s desire was to come back to Michigan to be closer to her family. She moved here during Covid and began yet another phase of her life. She loved being nearer to her family, volunterring at AWPC, and got to see both granddaughters married (Ann Marie married Grant Barel & Jessica married Matthew Arrowwood). During this last year, she battled against bone marrow cancer that eventually turned into acute leukemia. The Lord took her from her earthly home to her heavenly home on August 28, 2023. She is now with Jesus along with her family & friends who have gone before her. Those of us left here on earth will miss her smile and sweet spirit.”
